Mzansi’s much-loved fashion extravaganza, the Durban July, came back with a bang this past weekend. Star-studded, the fashion affair, which is primarily a horse racing event, was held on 1 July 2023 – showcasing some of the most breathtaking fashion moments.
The prestigious event unfolded at the renowned Greyville Racecourse in Greyville, Durban, blending the realms of euphonious music, mesmerising entertainment, and avant-garde fashion.
While the Durban July has always been a beacon of attention-grabbing style, this year’s theme, “Out of This World”, propelled fashion to celestial heights.
Attendees embraced the extraterrestrial allure, adorning themselves with futuristic headpieces, donning alien-inspired silhouettes, embellishing their ensembles with glistening accents, and exuding an ethereal beauty reminiscent of the cosmos.

Alien Superstar
Nandi Madida resembled a celestial goddess in a sheer white gown from Keys Fashion. She elevated the look with a crystalised crown – like a true goddess.
Superstar, Supernova
Jessica Nkosi won the hearts of social media fashion enthusiasts with a dress by internationally renowned Namibian designer, Ruberto Scholtz. The purple and white ensemble exuded galactic royalty.
Extraterrestrial
Actress and media personality Pearl Thusi gave us a Scorpion King nostalgic moment in a golden gown by Gert Johan Coetzee.
Wonderland
Sithelo Shozi resembled an exotic flower child in a Taussy Daniel original. The tulip inspired dress exuded elegance, with a dash of sass.
