Garth Brown is stepping into his own light with clarity and intention. Blending gospel-rooted emotion with contemporary Afro-house textures, his sound feels both grounding and expansive. His latest single, ‘Endaweni’, written alongside Lady Du, is a powerful isiZulu offering that explores themes of belonging, reflection, and spiritual alignment.
With over a decade in the music industry, Brown has built a multifaceted career that spans artistry, A&R, and music marketing across the African landscape. Now stepping forward as a solo artist, he is embracing a more personal and purposeful chapter. His debut EP Let There Be Light signals this evolution, with “Endaweni” setting the tone for a body of work rooted in faith, growth, and self-discovery.
We caught up with him to explore the rituals, spaces, and experiences that keep him grounded, inspired, and evolving.
Meditation / Silence
Silence is where everything settles. It’s where I step away from noise and come back to myself. Before anything moves externally, it has to be clear internally.
Prayer / Bible
My faith gives structure to everything else. It’s not something I visit occasionally, it’s the lens through which I understand direction, discipline, and purpose.
Boxing & Running
Boxing and running came after a major health scare that left me temporarily paralysed and unable to walk. What started as recovery became routine. Now it’s a constant reminder to keep moving, to stay disciplined, and to fight for my health every day.
Swimming

Swimming is where things slow down. It’s light, it’s freeing, and it reminds me not everything has to be intense to be meaningful.
Travel
Travel shifts perspective. It pulls me out of routine and places me in something bigger. It’s a reminder that there’s always more to see, learn, and experience. It also helps me to expand my views and approach to life.
Pasta
Food, for me, is about experience. It’s about sitting down, sharing space, and enjoying the moment properly, not rushing through it. I guess it’s true what they say about the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
Fragrance
Fragrance is subtle but intentional. It’s part of how I present myself, something people may not always see, but they feel.
Jewellery
Jewellery is personal. I often collect pieces while travelling. It’s my way of carrying a place, a moment, or a memory with me. Small details, but they hold meaning.
Studio
The studio is where everything comes together. Every experience, every influence, it all finds its way into the music. This is where I translate life into something people can feel.
