Maybelline New York South Africa brought the energy of the world’s most iconic city to Johannesburg on 30 May as it hosted its highly anticipated Month of Maybelline celebration at The Galleria.

The annual event, which has become a highlight on the local beauty calendar, welcomed beauty enthusiasts, creators, trendsetters, and industry personalities for an immersive experience that celebrated self-expression, individuality, and innovation. This year’s theme, New York to Mzansi, paid tribute to Maybelline’s New York heritage while embracing the creativity, culture, and talent that make South Africa unique.

The celebration reflected the brand’s longstanding belief that makeup is a tool for self-expression rather than transformation. For decades, Maybelline’s iconic slogan, “Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline,” has encouraged people around the world to embrace their individuality while expressing themselves with confidence.

Guests were treated to a star-studded line-up of performances and appearances from some of South Africa’s biggest names in music and entertainment. The event featured performances by Uncle Waffles, DBN Gogo, and Maybelline brand ambassadors Kamo Mphela, DJ Doowap, and Filah Lah Lah. Digital creator and entertainer Lasizwe Dambuza also made a special appearance, adding to the excitement of the evening.
