Cape Town shimmered in full summer splendour this past Saturday, the 6th of December 2025, as Cape Town Resort Collections made its triumphant return to the Mother City. Hosted at the newly refurbished President Hotel in Bantry Bay, the event unfolded like a love letter to coastal luxury — a seamless blend of oceanfront glamour, visionary design, and the unmistakable electricity of South African fashion at its finest.

Against the backdrop of waves rolling onto the rocks below, some of the country’s most celebrated designers unveiled their new-season resort collections. Thebe Magugu, Kiav Mitoo, Stephen Van Eeden, Fabrosanz, Craig Port & The MAZE Collective, Gavin Rajah, Imprint, and Thula Sindi each brought their signature mastery, transforming the hotel’s ocean-facing deck into a runway alive with texture, movement, and colour. From sculptural silhouettes to breezy summer tailoring, the collections captured the mood of Cape Town in December — luminous, laid-back, yet undeniably sophisticated.
Adding to the sense of occasion was the resort’s exclusive on-site pop up: a curated space dedicated to re-sale and coveted archive pieces. Here, guests could move from runway to rails, shopping consciously while handling rare items that usually never reappear once they’ve graced the catwalk. It was a celebration not only of design, but of circularity — a nod to the future of luxury in a world that demands intention.

This year’s programme also placed Futurewear at the forefront, spotlighting a striking capsule by the cohort’s emerging talent. With mentorship and practical guidance at the heart of the initiative, Futurewear offered young designers a powerful platform, positioning them shoulder-to-shoulder with industry titans.
“Cape Town in summer has a singular mood. We wanted to capture that with collections made for the city’s light and lifestyle, and to pair it with a real commitment to circular fashion,” said Gavin Rajah, founder. “The resale pop up brings runway pieces and coveted archive items within reach, and Futurewear ensures young voices share the stage with established names.”

In its first major event since undergoing refurbishment, the President Hotel rose to the occasion with effortless elegance. “The property was designed for days like this, when the city’s creative community assembles to showcase what makes our coast a destination,” said Joanne Clayton, Brand Director. “We were proud and honoured to host the return of Cape Town Resort Collections.”
With world-class fashion, a sea-washed backdrop, and a community buzzing with creativity, the 2025 edition of Cape Town Resort Collections was nothing short of a grand coastal spectacle — a reminder that when fashion meets the Cape Town summer, magic happens.
