ISUZU Motors South Africa proudly announces its partnership with three influential designers, Fabrice Moyo of Franc Elis, Thando Ntuli of Munkus, and the visionary behind Black Coffee, Jacques Van der Walt, for the highly anticipated SA Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024 collection. This will be ISUZU’s second season, following a successful runway show last year.

“We’re thrilled about teaming up with SA Fashion Week, aligning with our shared values of innovation, sustainability, and unwavering excellence. As the Official Vehicle Partner of SA Fashion Week for the second year running, we look forward to showcasing the bold creativity in the South African fashion industry—a perfect match for the bold and reliable vehicles we create,” says Ziphindiwe Ngcobo, Department Executive: Marketing at ISUZU Motors South Africa.

Bold designers

Thando Ntuli, the creative force behind Munkus, launched her label in 2019 with storytelling as her guiding creative device. Hailing from Soweto, Ntuli’s achievements include winning the Most Fashionable Commercial Range award from Truworths in 2019 and being recognised as the All Sourcing Designer of the Year in 2021. Her work has been featured on various platforms, including South African and Lagos Fashion Weeks.

The trans-seasonal Munkus brand draws influences from the 1980s and 1990s, reflecting the vibrant fashion of Soweto and townships like Gugulethu. Bold colours, prints, and retro-inspired silhouettes define her designs, allowing women to express their most colourful and loud selves.

As the Head of Atelier for
Franc Elis, Fabrice Moyo has led Franc Elis since its establishment in 2003, earning recognition for impeccable quality and creative minimalism. The brand, specialising in urban men’s wear and frequently drawing inspiration from military attire, is set to unveil his 2024 collection. This collection showcases Franc Elis’s signature cohesive storytelling through design.

Black Coffee
, a predominantly womenswear label with a large gender-neutral range, joins this illustrious lineup, embracing the concept that clothing is not bound to gender. Partnering with ISUZU for the second time, the visionary behind Black Coffee envisions reinvention and regeneration, drawing inspiration from 18th-century frescos, mosaics, Hokusai block prints, and Sashiko mending. Some pieces are made from “dead stock” fabrics and remnants, showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainability through upcycling.

“The partnership with these designers for SA Fashion Week SS24 is a testament to ISUZU Motors South Africa’s commitment to innovation and creativity, bridging the worlds of automotive excellence and high fashion. This collaboration reflects the shared values of precision, craftsmanship, and sustainability that both ISUZU and these distinguished designers embody,” adds Ngcobo.

SA Fashion Week SS24, to be held at Mall of Africa on 18-20 April 2024, promises to be an event of extraordinary vision and creativity, as these designers showcase their unique perspectives and celebrate the intersection of automotive and fashion excellence.

The ISUZU Luxury Collection showcase will be held at Mall of Africa on Friday, 19 April at 19h00.
