AMIRI unveils its newly renovated retail store in Johannesburg, South Africa, located in the iconic shopping center of Sandton City – marking a milestone in the brand’s journey and reinforcing its presence in the African luxury market.
Designed by AMIRI’s Founder and Creative Director, Mike Amiri, the space highlights subtle juxtapositions of natural materials and luxurious, tactile textures, evoking the timeless glamour of Hollywood.

Behind a travertine façade, minimalist white oak furniture contrasts elegantly with rich velvet fabrics, complemented by stools and display plinths crafted from ivory onyx and travertine. Footwear and accessories are showcased within illuminated, travertine-effect plaster display fixtures, while feature walls are draped in neutral fabrics – a subtle reference to classic Hollywood movie theater backdrops. Underfoot, luxurious wall-to-wall carpeting is patterned with the AMIRI ‘MA’ Quad Monogram emblem, a hallmark of the brand. At the center of the space, a custom burl wood DJ table celebrates the brand’s deep connection with music and ongoing partnership between AMIRI and South African luminary Black Coffee.

AMIRI’s presence in South Africa is a statement of style and innovation, where global design sensibilities meet the vibrant energy of the region’s landscape. The store showcases an immersive, meticulously crafted experience that reflects AMIRI’s distinctive identity and celebrates a cultural dialogue, honoring the brand’s commitment to quality, authenticity, creativity, and the dynamic spirit of Johannesburg.

“Johannesburg is a city that embodies creative energy, music, and art – elements that are deeply woven into AMIRI. The Sandton City store is designed to reflect the authenticity of this culture and celebrate the city’s vibrant community. Within this, the space becomes a hub for artistic exchange, interweaving a dialogue between Hollywood and Johannesburg. Our connection to South Africa runs deep – from the creative spirit we share to the endless inspiration it offers, shaping the way we engage with culture, community, and design.“ – Mike Amiri
