All eyes were on Nomalanga Shozi at the Miss South Africa 2025 finale, and she did not disappoint. The celebrated actress, TV and radio host led the glamorous affair with confidence, charisma and timeless grace at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Saturday, 25 October.
Hosting the prestigious pageant for the first time, Nomalanga captivated the audience with her eloquence and commanding presence, while serving a series of breathtaking couture moments that lit up the stage. Styled by award-winning celebrity stylist Phupho Gumede K, her six impeccable looks reflected pure artistry, precision and poise.
Her red carpet look, a sculpted black creation by Sucra, set the tone for the evening. The gown’s exaggerated hips and corset bodice created a striking silhouette that was both architectural and sensual. A black beaded headpiece framed her face like an avant-garde crown, giving the look a darkly romantic allure that commanded attention.

For her opening look on stage, Nomalanga wore a voluminous grey gown by MASANGO. The masterpiece featured a dramatic ruffled structure that curved into a heart-shaped flourish, paired with a shimmering, silver-embellished bodice. The look captured the perfect balance between drama and elegance, and glistened under the arena lights with every movement.

Her third look, a crimson gown by Ateliê Taùssy Daniel, brought a burst of passion and texture to the evening. Embellished with intricate appliqué and sequinned detailing, the one-shoulder piece sculpted her figure beautifully. She paired it with regal jewellery from JoZEEst Accessories, adding a touch of old-world sophistication that made the entire look feel red-carpet royal.

The fourth look, a delicate silver creation by Neviole, exuded refinement and femininity. The gown’s body-skimming silhouette and soft cape-like draping added an ethereal charm, giving Nomalanga an almost celestial presence on stage.

From Orapeleng Modutle’s couture brand OM Style Avenue, her fifth look stunned the audience with intricate pearl detailing and sheer craftsmanship. The piece merged sensuality with couture precision, with cascading pearl strands and structured fabric that flowed like liquid light. Paired with diamond jewellery and a sleek hairdo, she looked every bit the modern goddess.

For her final look, a glittering gown by Nala Privè, Nomalanga closed the night with a flourish of sophistication. The gown shimmered beneath the soft glow of the arena lights, and its voluminous sleeves and corseted bodice framed her silhouette with elegance and grandeur.

Each ensemble told a story of craftsmanship and creativity, harmonised through Nomalanga’s unmistakable presence and Phupho Gumede K’s impeccable styling. Her fashion journey at Miss South Africa 2025 was more than a showcase of glamour — it was a celebration of South African design excellence, beauty and artistry.
