Saddle up! Beyoncé is reviving cowboy-core with her chic Western fashion inspired style run. Considering that she is one of the most iconic musicians of our time, it is no surprise that her cowboy-core wardrobe is changing the idea Western wear and who wears it. From chic cowboy hats and modish denim pieces to bolo ties and leather boots, the ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ hit-maker is reviving the timeless aesthetic.

Queen B’s artwork for her blockbuster album, Cowboy Carter features a red, white, and blue Rodeo-inspired outfit, which was the first affirmation of the Western Renaissance that we are in. Since then, the singer-songwriter has broken the internet on multiple occasions for her voguish cowboy looks, with the most notable being for her ‘Cowboy Carter’ press run.

Ahead, some of our favourite looks from Beyoncé’s cowboy-core era.

At the annual iHeartRadio Music Awards, Beyoncé slipped into an archival look from Gianni Versace’s Western-inspired fall 1992 collection. Of course, her outfit featured plenty of leather and flashy gold detailing. Beyoncé sported a plunging long sleeve top paired with embellished high-waisted pants. The ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ hit-maker accessorised her look with two chunky, studded belts and a gold-trimmed cowboy hat. In true superstar fashion, Beyoncé rounded up the look with wavy blonde curls, black sunglasses, and gold hoop earrings.

Before the release of her country album, Beyoncé shared images in an alluring, black Western inspired montage. The ensemble consisted of a lacy black see-through dress from Dolce & Gabbana in a polka-dot pattern, with a corseted bodice and ruffled skirt. She drove home the country-western theme with a black leather garter, a black cowboy hat worn atop a matching lace veil, and turquoise jewelry stamped onto her nails. To finish off the look, she wore see-through black mesh opera gloves and black pointed-toe pumps.

It is undisputed that Beyoncé has taken the Western fashion trend to new heights but the movement in itself has been booming since 2023 – think Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s matching cowboy hats in the culture-shifting film, Barbie.
