As the first award show of the season, the 81st Golden Globes has undoubtedly set the standard for the red carpet in 2024. And if the scene at the Beverly Hilton was any indication, we can anticipate plenty of show-stopping Schiaparelli (straight off the runway and archival), red-hot gowns in shades of ruby, and unexpected headpieces that feel a little bit wicked.
On the film of things, Barbie and Succession lead the night with nine nominations each, with Oppenheimer coming in second with eight nods. Other major players of the night include Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things, Past Lives, and The Bear. (The full list of nominees can be viewed here.) This is the first ceremony since the disbandment of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association last year. It will now be presented by the Golden Globe Foundation, which is comprised of Elridge Industries and Dick Clark Productions.
Ahead, the best-dressed stars at the 2024 Golden Globes.
Taylor Swift

Pop star Taylor Swift has become known for her shimmering silver dresses, but it appears she may be exiting her disco era with this green metallic Gucci number. The slinky (and snaky) gown feels like an exciting departure from her signature style.
Natasha Lyonne

Fashion enthusiasts often complain about celebrities not watching the couture shows closely enough and taking the kind of fashion risks that feel like a fantasy. And then there’s Natasha Lyonne. The star wore a statuesque Schiaparelli from the Spring/Summer 2023 runway.
Oprah Winfrey

To promote The Colour Purple, Oprah wore purple, of course. After the living legend attended the Louis Vuitton show this past spring, the label’s team called and asked what they could do for her.
