Where was your dream holiday?

My dream holiday was Greece, both Mykonos and Santorini. I love coastal adventures because I’m from a coastal city so anything involving beach vibes is ideal for me.

What made it a dream holiday?

I went with a group of girlfriends for a birthday celebration in 2022, the weather was amazing as it was the end of July. It was lovely, filled with good food and rich historical tours, day parties on the beach and yacht trips at sunset. The energy was so good because there were people from everywhere.

What type of traveller would you recommend for this place?

Someone whose in the mood for splurging. To experience it at it’s best, you need to be willing to bite the costs because it’s in euros. It’s best to travel in groups as most of the experiences are catered for groups. Most importantly, plan properly and book on time.

What made it a dream holiday?

Every stop was filled with adventure and new experiences from the friendly people, and experiences on offer, to the food and historical landmarks.

What type of traveller would you recommend for this place?

Tunisia is for everyone. Nature enthusiasts can explore the Sahara Desert or relax on Mediterranean beaches. Thrill-seekers can enjoy windsurfing in Djerba. If you’re a foodie, Tunisian cuisine has plenty of variety with both middle-east flavors and European traditions. Solo travelers can immerse themselves in local culture, and families can enjoy the blend of history and recreation. Budget travellers will find affordable options, and luxury seekers can indulge in upscale resorts. You can expect to pay reasonably low prices for high standards. It’s a destination with something for everyone.

Where was your dream holiday?

The Maldives has always held a special place on my bucket list, and experiencing it firsthand was nothing short of magical.

What made it a dream holiday?

Hearing others speak about it and seeing their photos left me wondering if it could truly live up to its allure – and it absolutely did. The crystal-clear waters, perfect weather, delicious food, and the overall sense of tranquillity exceeded my expectations. Having immersed myself in the Maldivian beauty once, I am now determined to save up and return, this time with my partner by my side. It’s not just a destination; it’s a must-do, an experience that I believe everyone should have at least once in their lifetime.

What type of traveller would you recommend for this place?

The Maldives isn’t just a paradise for lovers; it’s an ideal destination for small families or a much-needed girls’ trip. If you’re someone who enjoys water sports, relaxation, and indulging in good food, a visit to the Maldives is an absolute must. Despite its reputation for being on the expensive side, I believe it’s a feasible venture, especially when commemorating a significant milestone in your life. With a range of hotels and resorts catering to various budgets (within reason), there’s something for everyone to experience the beauty of this tropical haven.

Where was your dream holiday?

My dream holiday was when I visited Corona Island in the Caribbean, just off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia.

What made it a dream holiday?

Imagine yourself waking up to a stunning sunrise on a private island surrounded by warm, clear turquoise water, and then walking barefoot on a white sandy beach, breathing fresh unpolluted air, hearing the sound of waves gently crashing on the shore, and listening to birds – That’s how Corona Island feels like. Expect to see an array of tropical birds and exotic animals such as iguanas, monkeys, toucans, and parrots including indigenous turtles.

The island offers enjoyable activities and excursions aimed to help visitors rediscover their true selves and get back in touch with nature. If you enjoy taking walks by the beach, sun-basking, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, playing beach volleyball, planting trees, bird watching, sunrise yoga, stargazing, kayaking, or doing absolutely nothing, add Corona Island to your bucket list of dream destinations.

Sustainable tourism is something I am passionate about and I enjoy the outdoors because that’s my only way I can really escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life in order to reconnect with nature and re-energise my soul while appreciating meaningful moments in life.

Corona Island is a first-of-its-kind and plastic-free tropical and sustainable paradise for eco-tourism. The island has also achieved Oceanic Global’s three-star plastic-free Blue Seal for eliminating single-use plastic. Each bungalow has been built to guarantee the most incredible sunset views from the comfort of your room or the outside deck overlooking the ocean.

What type of traveller would you recommend for this place?

I would highly recommend Corona Island to anyone who would like to unplug from the outside world and reconnect with nature without compromising on the fun outdoor activities. Even though this is not a luxurious island, it’s still not a budget-friendly destination. You would still have to dig deeper into your savings to be able to spend at least a week on the island.

Where was your dream holiday?

My dream destination has to be France. I have explored various cities in France such as Paris, St Tropez, Cannes, Nice,  Cognac and Champagne and it’s a country I always look forward to exploriing more of its cities and small towns.

What made it a dream holiday?

I first visited France with my parents many years ago, it was one of the first European countries I ever visited and to be honest I did not fall in love with it right away, but it is so sentimental to me because it is a place my dad really wanted me to see and experience with him before he passed away. My dad and I were such lovers of history and just learning about the different cultures and the back stories of the destinations we always visited.

Since our trip that we shared together, I have visited France over six times, exploring it for a myriad of reasons. I
was recently in France for the Rugby World Cup, which was such an amazing experience being in Paris and witness the electric energy during that time. I have also travelled to France specifically to see someof my favourite artists live in concert which is Beyonce and Jay Z, I saw them in Nice and Beyonce again in Paris, and my forever crush and favourtie R & B artist of all time , Usher. France holds a very special and sentimental place in my heart.

What type of traveller would you recommend for this place?

As a city and tropical girl, I absolutely love how diverse France can be. You can find yourself in the city shopping to your hearts content in Paris, you can find yourself on the beach in Nice or St Tropez or you can find yourself in the wine lands of Bordeaux or the distillery in Cognac having a different and wholesome experience. France caters to every kind of traveller and I absolutely love it for that.

She is passionate about showcasing the beauty of Africa and has learned to get more out of her travels by digging deeper.

Where was your dream holiday?

My dream holiday was New York, USA.

What made it a dream holiday?

I had been wanting to travel to USA for a while but experienced delays due to visa appointment availability and timing. When I finally got my visa in November 2022, I knew that in 2023 I would definitely travel to New York – and I did. As a travel content creator, a lot of my travel is linked with work in some way. Unlike my usual travels, this trip was purely a self-funded vacation with no deliverables and that meant the world to me.
I stayed in Times Square on 42nd street and explored as much as I could. I saw the Statue of Liberty on a sunset boat tour, took in the expansive city views from the 93rd floor of Summit One Vanderbilt, I bought pastries from Carlos bakery and sat at Bryant park while I ate them, I went for a slow stroll and lay down at Central Park, I took the subway to Dumbo and I even made a stop at the world’s largest candy store. This trip felt like being in a movie. It was a dream.

What type of traveller would you recommend for this place?

Someone who enjoys exploring by foot. I walked more than ever in New York because it is a walkable city and it’s the most affordable way of getting around. There’s something about navigating a new place by foot that boosts your confidence. Perhaps it’s that feeling of accomplishment when you follow a map successfully and make it to your destination.
There is so much to look at in New York. Simple experiences like walking through Macys feels like a tourist activity. Taking in Times Square lights, sounds and craziness by day and also by night gave me such a buzz. It is true that this city never sleeps. It’s so alive and it made me feel so alive.
One of the highlights was seeing the award-winning musical, Hamilton, on Broadway. I had heard of it’s brilliance and it surpassed my expectations. Listening to the soundtrack now brings back all of the memories of my New York solo adventure.

I must mention that it is pricey so you would need to consider the costs before booking your trip.
