We may not have seen the full picture yet, but the first glimpses of Bozoma Saint John and Keely Watson’s Ghanaian wedding have already given us plenty to admire.
The marketing powerhouse and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star married Watson in Accra, Ghana, on Friday, 21 August, bringing together family, friends and an impressive gathering of guests for a celebration rooted in Ghanaian tradition and elevated by extraordinary fashion.
And if there is one word for the celebration we have seen so far, it is spectacular.
Nearly 1,000 guests reportedly attended the wider wedding celebrations, with the traditional ceremony taking place at the residence of former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo. Among those in attendance were Ashley Graham and Justin Ervin, Elaine Welteroth, Yaya DaCosta and several of Saint John’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmates, including Kyle Richards, Kathy Hilton, Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke and Jennifer Tilly.
But it was the fashion that immediately captured attention.
For the traditional ceremony, Saint John and Watson embraced Kente, surrounded by guests dressed in an equally striking display of Ghanaian-inspired glamour. Richly woven fabrics, elaborate headpieces, bold colours and layers of gold filled the celebration, creating a visual feast that felt both deeply connected to tradition and unmistakably contemporary.
Saint John’s Kente was created by Goba Kente and Naana Adobea, while her reception look was designed by Ghanaian designer Mimmy Yeboah. Even her footwear became part of the story, with custom Christian Louboutin shoes created using her Kente fabric.
Every detail seemed to carry a sense of intention.
Rather than treating Ghana as simply a backdrop for a destination wedding, Saint John and Watson placed the country and its traditions at the heart of their celebration. From the ceremony and clothing to the setting and guest experience, Ghanaian culture was not an accessory. It was woven into the fabric of the occasion.
That sense of cultural pride is perhaps what makes the images emerging from the celebration so compelling.
There is something wonderfully theatrical about the photographs and videos shared so far. Guests appear dressed not merely for a wedding, but for an occasion. The colours are rich, the jewellery is striking and the styling is unapologetically grand, while the couple’s looks remain at the centre of it all.
It is also a celebration that feels distinctly personal. Saint John has long been known for her bold approach to fashion, branding and self-expression, and those sensibilities seem to have followed her down the aisle. The wedding feels polished without losing its cultural identity, glamorous without overshadowing the traditions that give the celebration meaning.
And yet, we have only seen glimpses.
The couple have not yet shared a complete official wedding reveal, leaving much of what we know so far to images, videos and moments captured by guests and shared across social media.
Which means there is still plenty more to look forward to.
For now, though, the glimpses from Accra tell a beautiful story: two women celebrating their love surrounded by the people they hold dear, while embracing the culture, craftsmanship and visual language of Ghana.
And honestly, we cannot wait to see the rest.
