On December 20, 2025, SURAN made history as the first South Korean singer to headline a solo fan concert in West Africa. The singer-songwriter performed at the inaugural edition of Jaese Presents in Ghana, held at Liberty Hall in Tema. The event marked a major milestone for Ghana’s growing K-pop community, drawing fans from across the country as well as the United States and Nigeria.

Beyond entertaining fans with her hit songs “1+1=0” and “Wine,” SURAN immersed herself in Ghanaian culture during her six-day stay in the country. One of the standout moments from her visit was the outfit she wore while exploring the streets of Accra, an eye-catching crochet ensemble designed by Ghanaian creative Laurel Pinamang Adu-Adjei. Laurel, a 29-year-old self-taught crochet designer, is also a prominent face within Ghana’s K-pop fan community.

SURAN shared photos of the handmade piece on Instagram, showcasing a plain milk cotton yarn crochet design in a coffee color. She captioned the post, “6 days in Ghana felt like a movie. One of the most memorable times of my life. Hope to see you all again. Forever grateful.”

The custom design was a three-piece crochet set featuring a cowl-neck mesh top. SURAN was spotted wearing a bikini bra paired with a matching bandana made from variegated yarn, completing the look with a pair of slouch boots. She wore the ensemble during her meeting with Ghanaian Grammy winner Rocky Dawuni.

Beyond her work as a designer, Laurel is recognized as one of the voices and cultural ambassadors of the K-pop community in Ghana. She is a member of the K-pop dance group Fierce Crew and served as a Korea.net Cultural Ambassador from 2023 to 2025. Laurel was also among the content creators instrumental in raising awareness for Jaese Presents: SURAN Live in Ghana.
Looking ahead, Laurel has expressed interest in styling global K-pop stars such as Jessi, Jackson Wang, and Hwasa with her crochet designs.
